Say hello to Sheffield, your new home and place of study! You're now part of a friendly and diverse international student community at the English Language Teaching Centre, University of Sheffield. Did you know you that you are also a member of our Students' Union, where you can find fun things to do, make new friends, and get advice and support about life in the UK?
Your Students' Union building on Western Bank is at the heart of student life. You can eat, drink, meet, chill, work, shop, bank and get advice all within the Students’ Union Building! It’s a safe space you can relax or work in and practise your English.
Students from 125 countries have made Sheffield their home and we are also the birthplace of the #weareinternational movement. Meet other students and make new friends by joining in with social activities like Give it a Go. Find out more about our International Students’ Committee and if you are staying on for a course in September, why not check out what our Postgraduate Society does. Look out for our exciting Intro Festival in September too, if you’re starting a new course then.
Our friendly Student Advice Centre offers help and information about everything from housing to visas. We understand that sometimes life doesn’t go to plan and our advisers are here to help you deal with any problems. We can give you support with your course, advice about housing, money or visas, and if there’s something we can’t help you with, we can direct you to someone who can. This confidential and independent advice service won’t share details of anything you discuss with anyone else.
